Events

Lions Loot Sweepstakes: Founded in 2003, this event, our largest fundraiser, is held in the spring of each year at the Fulton Polish Home. Ticket holders are treated to beer, refreshments, music and a great time as excitement builds toward the prize drawings. 1000 tickets are sold for $50 a piece. Of the $50,000 taken in, we give away prizes totaling $26,000, including a grand prize of $10,000. Two early bird raffles are held in the months prior to the event, where we draw five names each time for early ticket buyers. Each name drawn wins $100.

Duck Derby

Charby's Duck Derby:

Ducky Derby Fulton Lion's Club

Founded in 1989 by Lion Past President Don Charbonneau, this event is held each year the Sunday of the weekend after Labor Day at the Canal Park (behind the Tavern on the Lock Restaurant). Tickets are sold at a cost of $5.00 per duck ($25 for 6) with each ticket assigned a pre-numbered duck. At 3:30 p.m. on derby day, thousands of these ducks are dumped into the Oswego River Canal. They are then floated to a finish line where winners are drawn in sequence. The first duck to cross the finish line wins a prize of $2,500, sponsored by the Medicine Place Pharmacy. Approximately thirty additional prizes are awarded. Food and alcohol are available for purchase and raffles are held throughout the day. Entertainment is sponsored by Community Bank. This is a great end of the summer party!

Main Event Comedy Night Fulton Lion's Club

Mane Event Comedy Night:

The Mane Event Comedy Night features two nationally famous comedians. The event is traditionally held in October and offers a great night out while helping the Lions raise funds for The H. and Mary Dowd Scholarship Fund. Tickets are sold in advance for a VIP table of 10, or individually.

Memorial Day Salute:

This event is held on the Saturday preceding the Memorial Day Holiday. Founded in 1982, it is a joint effort of Fulton's four service clubs, the Kiwanis, Lions, Noon Rotary and Sunrise Rotary Clubs, as well as the Fulton Veteran's Council. Members of each service club serve on the organizing committee. The salute features Oswego County’s biggest parade, free entertainment, food and beverages, rides for the kids and a Saturday night fireworks display to close out the event. The event has its own web site, www.fultonmemorialdaysalute.com.

Swing For Service Fulton Lion's Club

Swing 4 Service Golf Tournament:

This is another joint effort of Fulton's four service clubs with members of each club serving on the organizing committee. Business sponsors and team entries fund the event, which takes place in late summer at the Emerald Crest Golf Club in Palermo. Lunch and dinner are provided, as are prizes for best team scores, and a variety of categories such as longest women's drive, men's drive, closest to the pin, etc.

Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids Collection:

Members and collection points at The Fulton Medicine Place and Walmart take used eyeglasses. The Fulton Lions Club then forwards them to a Lions International recycling center where the lenses are processed and re-used abroad.
