FULTON, NY – The Fulton Lions Club recently donated $1,000 to the Stone Soup fundraiser for local food pantries, sponsored by the United Way of Greater Oswego County, (UWGOC), it was announced by President David Guyer. “The Fulton Lions Club has contributed to this project for a number of years,” Guyer said. “It is of vital importance that we all pull together to support our local food pantries and the clients they serve.”
This year’s event, held April 11, at Holy Trinity Parish in Fulton, had soup donated from Blue Moon Grill, Tavern on the Lock, Mimi’s Drive-In, and the Foursome Diner, said Ali McGrath, UWGOC resource development director. Other supporters were Davis Brothers, C’s Market, Red Baron, Springside at Seneca Hill, Kathy’s Cakes, Sweet Cindy’s Gluten Free Bakery, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Kinney Drugs.
All proceeds benefit food pantries at the Hannibal Resource Center, Catholic Charities of Oswego County, and the Salvation Army.
The Fulton Lions Club, also known for their Lions Loot Sweepstakes, Lions Mane Event Comedy Night, and annual Duck Derby, provides financial assistance for those in need of eyeglasses, eye exams, and hearing aids to residents in the Greater Fulton area.
